He was reviewed by New York Times, Village Voice, Artnews, Arts magazine and International sculpture. Gibbons received Reynolds Metals Company Commission, Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship. Exhibition Grant, Artist’s Space and Hakone Museum Prize.
