Bente Ørum Wall Decorations

Bente Orum's paintings are figurative, often with a hint of surrealism. The paintings deal with people, their feelings and the challenges they have, the problems they meet. It is important for Orum that the painting causes the viewer to wonder what is really going on? The painting tells a story, but is not unambiguous. Different viewers will read different stories into the painting and there is no one story that is correct. Orum has painted since 2005 and has exhibited at different places, in 2018 at Porsebakken and Art-Nordic in Copenhagen.

Peter Buchman "No Portrait, No Landscape", Voice-Over Paintings Series, 2018
By Peter Buchman
Located in New York, NY
Contemporary New York artist Peter Buchman's "No Portrait, No Landscape" white painting is made of laser cut plexiglass, acrylic medium and enamel on wood. It's a part of his Voice over Series, one that poetically mocks knowledge and itself in an endless bantering list style. To explain that Buchman’s word paintings are ‘A Figure Of Speech’ is underestimating the level of soulfulness at which these works reside. They are markings directly from the artist’s hand yet are indications of many people before him. These are words from familiar phrases, music albums, his funny brand of irony and the human form itself. Signed and dated en verso. This will ship directly from the one of the artist's studios. American artist Peter Buchman has BFA in Illustration from The Rhode Island School of Design and did a Sculpture Residency at The School of Visual Arts in New York. Peter's artwork has been exhibited throughout the US since 1981 including the Parrish Art Museum (Southampton, NY), Cooperstown Museum (NY), Delaware Museum of Art, Kidder Smith Gallery (MA) and Vered Gallery (East Hampton, NY). His work is included in the portfolios of collectors including Beth Rudin DeWoody, Nicole Miller, David Yurman and Howard Schultz...

Rather than simply let it fall into the sea, in July 2020 the entire building began to be carefully dismantled so as not to have any impact on the surrounding sensitive environment. The Orford Ness Lighthouse Trust plan at that time was to remove the lantern room as well as other original features and artefacts with a view to one day creating a lighthouse memorial of some sort on the other side of the Ness, facing Orford town’s quay. In the original pine slip frame height 48cm., 19" length 63cm., 24 1/2" ORFORD NESS Orford Ness is an internationally important site for nature conservation and a designated National Nature Reserve. It is a rare and delicate landscape, consisting of shingle ridges and valleys, deposited over centuries by the sea. 20% of Europe's vegetated shingle is found on Orford Ness. Once a former World War One and World War Two Airfield, the land is now a rich grazing marsh, providing home to birds, deer and rare-breed sheep. It is one of the few sites in the UK with purpose-built facilities for the testing of components of nuclear weapons. Comprising of six 'labs', which now form impressive backdrops on the shingle and the Black Beacon erected in 1928 to house an experimental rotating-loop navigation beacon. GLYNN THOMAS Glynn Thomas was born in Cambridge 1946. He studied at the Cambridge School of Art 1962-67, specialising in illustration and printmaking; taught printmaking at the Ipswich School of Art 1967-79, and is now a full-time artist living in Suffolk. He has illustrated a number of books. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and at the Society’s 1983 annual exhibition his etching ‘Honfleur’, was awarded the Davys’ prize for the best print.
