About an Artist: Irena Orlov is a Los Angeles-based contemporary multidisciplinary visual artist whose work uses a combination of both traditional and new media. In a blending of traditional and new media, Irena Orlov developed special techniques which continue to give her art a unique look and aesthetic. While the majority of her works are done with mixed media, she also creates with acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolors and pencil. Olympio, a prominent figurative abstract artist from Togo, creates artwork that is driven by an unapologetic sense of instinct. Olympio’s work is honest and palpable: exposed, raw, and direct. Through a bold use of color and texture, Olympio creates dynamic, multi-layered works that demand the viewer's attention. His work is an unfiltered manifestation of his soul. In 2001, Olympio left his home in Africa to live in Paris. Olympio moved to the United States in 2003 and has continued to paint. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami, where in 2018 he was ranked one of the Top 10 Artists by Red Dot Miami. He was also recently interviewed for France 2, TV5Monde, and the BBC. His work has been exhibited and collected internationally.
