Biosca Sideboard in Stained Pine, Spain 1960s
By BIOSCA
Located in Hellouw, NL
Biosca sideboard in stained pine. This sideboard from the hand of the Spanish manufacturer Biosca is an absolute paragon of the brutalism style applied in furniture. Not much is known about this illustrious manufacturer and the available examples are rare and for good reason. They are very robustly crafted and they have more than stood the test of time and are actually only getting more beautiful. Besides, this section rests on two sturdy and wide legs that both feature a striking cutout.Four relatively heavy doors are decorated with special geometric woodcuts that collectively form a beautiful pattern and add depth and dynamism. Small shadows alternate and give the object an air of mystery as it flirts with patterns similar to those found on 17th century Spanish doors...
