This is a spectacular large guinea fowl made in porcelain by Achille Bloch in Paris between 1900 and 1926. The Achille Bloch factory started its life as Porcelaine de Paris founded by Jean-Marx Clauss in 1829. If took inspiration from the great manufacturers of the 18th century: Meissen, Sèvres and others. The factory started small at 8 rue de la Pierre-Levée, but kept increasing its business. In 1890 the factory was bought by Achille Bloch and Léon Bourdois, and between 1900 and 1926, after Bourdois' departure, it was called Achille Bloch.
