Work from Brienz, Switzerland 19th century, also called, work of the Black Forest (erroneously as explained by Gazette Drouot experts). Still bears the sticker of the boutique it was sold from "Charnaux, Maison des Trois Rois, Genève". The Trois-Rois house has housed several photography workshops. Before 1860, Auguste Garcin set up shop there but sold his business to Henri-Antoine Boissonnas around 1866-1867, who moved to the Quai de la Poste in the 1870s.
