Provenance: from a Palm Beach estate Bronze sculpture on wooden base measuring 20.5" in total. Cast by Roman Bronze Works with original correspondence from 1968 and 1970 regarding the casting of this piece and the base provided by Mr. Lucchesi. The sculpture "Two Mothers" was first sculpted in 1962. Excellent age patina to the bronze. The bronze measures 18" tall. Bruno Lucchesi was born in 1926, an Italian-American sculptor known for his figurative work. Lucchesi was born in Fibbiano Montanino in Lucca, Italy. He studied at the Art Institute of Lucca, then moved to Florence, Italy where he became Assistant Professor at Florence University in 1953. In 1958 he moved to New York City and has since taught there at the National Academy of Design and the New School of Social Research.
