A French name for an Italian company, which has turned Made in Italy into its main strength. Founded in the early Fifties, at first it manufactured traditional sofas and soon became an industry leader. Its relentless research work led to the development of an unmistakable range: over 300 exclusive styles, over 1000 colours, a careful selection of hides and fabrics have always been the trademark of any Chateau d’Ax product. The launch of its franchising network in 1995 made it grow relentlessly so that now it has 350 stores across the world.
History
Chateau d’Ax opened its business in 1948 as a result of the Colombo family’s hard work and dedication in Lentate sul Seveso, a small town between Como and Milan, an Italian region that is known all over the world for its traditional handicrafts. Chateau d’Ax’s dedication has gone on for decades, so that now it has become synonym with modern living, adjustable to the most fashionable dimensions of personal taste, from designer to romantic, to new luxury. In the Nineties, Chateau d’Ax opened its doors to franchising, unveiling its first Italian franchise in 1995. The company kept growing abroad and in 2001 there were as many as 100 Chateau d’Ax stores across Europe. Just four years later, in 2005, the number of European stores had already doubled.
