The upholstery stripped back, the chair repadded using the original horse hair and new padding were required, the coil sprung base rewebbed and tied using the original springs, the chair has then been upholstered in aqua green Mulberry velvet...

The chair itself is what’s called a show frame Victorian library armchair, its named as such because of how ornate it is, they were designed for exhibitions and the frames were ornately crafted in luxury timbers to show off how talented the craftsman were. This one has been fully restored to include having the leather washed back, hand dyed and antiqued six times, sealed, waxed down and polished again, the timber has been lightly French polished and the castors replaced with a correct Victorian Porcelain suite...
