Claudia Keller Art

German, b. 1942
Claudia Keller (* 1942, Dessau, Germany) works in Düsseldorf studied at the Kölner Werkschulen (a school for fine arts, architecture and design) from 1960 to 1964. Claudia Keller then moved to the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf, where she studied graphic design and painting from 1964 to 1967 under Professor Josef Faßbender (1903-1974). In 1966 she received a scholarship from the Ernst Poensgen Foundation. Claudia Keller's work impresses with its precise but abstract rendering of landscape and light and a reduced color scheme. Her main concern is to show the effects of light - often also in reflections - and to leave the viewer a lot of space, to trace a depth of space and image, which is characterized by “wistful emptiness”. This gives the works a very realistic impression despite their strong abstraction. Claudia Keller has been exhibited at the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus (Munich), the Kunstverein Heidelberg, the Great Düsseldorf Art Exhibition, the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn, Art Basel and “International Graphics” in Valletta (Malta).

Some of these were successfully shown at the Fine Arts Gallery of San Diego and the Beaux Gallery in San Francisco, allowing her to spend time in England, France, and Germany.
