After having been apprenticed to confirmed ceramists: Lafourcade, Rivière, Georges Jouve and Pol Chambost, Jean and Robert Cloutier settled in 1955 in their own studio rue de Reuilly in Paris. They create utilitarian and decorative objects developing a very personal poetic universe.
