Elizabeth Peyton Art

American, b. 1965
Elizabeth Joy Peyton is a contemporary American artist known for her intimate and evocative portraits of iconic figures from popular culture, historical figures, friends, and art-world personalities. Peyton's distinctive approach to portraiture is characterized by delicate brushwork and emotional sensitivity, capturing celebrities, musicians, artists, and friends in moments of introspection and vulnerability. Inspired by Old Master paintings and classical portraiture, Peyton bridges traditional and contemporary art, exploring themes of beauty, identity, youth, and the allure of fame, while delving into the human desire for connection and intimacy.

Satiricon - Lithograph on Cardboard by Leonor Fini - 1970
By Leonor Fini
Located in Roma, IT
Satiricon is a colored lithograph, realized in 1970 by Leonor Fini, an Argentine-Italian painter who spent her artistic career in France and was associated with the Surrealist movement. Not signed nor numbered. In very good condition. From series "Satiricon de Petron". The artwork represents a portrait of a nude woman with her delicate beauty expressed perfectly through confident strokes by bright and harmonic colors. Leonor Fini (1907-1966) was an emblematic painter, illustrator, writer, scene painter and draftswoman; one of her favorite subjects was human bodies painted with hybrid shapes, as animals, plants or minerals. Her subjects are neither naked nor dressed, their body is crossed by nervous tissues, veins and blood vessels.

BACKYARD Signed Lithograph, Black Couple, African American Heritage, Quilts
By James Denmark
Located in Union City, NJ
BACKYARD by the artist James Denmark is an original hand drawn, limited edition lithograph printed on archival Somerset paper, 100% acid free using traditional hand lithography techniques. BACKYARD is one of Denmark's colorful collage compositions of everyday African American life - a soulful Southern country folk scene featuring a standing woman wearing a red orange skirt, multicolored floral print top, and dark indigo print head wrap; her male companion dressed in blue denim jeans, dark indigo print shirt and denim hat sitting in the backyard as the patchwork quilts flutter on the clothesline. Vivid coloration and textures captivate the eye with variety - deep violet, reds, fiery orange, touches of yellow, dark black and shades of blue - a very strong impression and fine example of hand lithography! Print size - 36.25 x 25.5 inches, unframed, mint condition, pencil signed and numbered by James Denmark, Certificate of Authenticity provided. Image size - 27.75 x 16.5 in.
