Emmanuel Jolicoeur was born on Christmas day in 1928 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and is the older brother of artist Wilson Jolicoeur. His work can be found in the collection of the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, IA. He was a member of the school Foyer des Arts Plastiques, created by a group of artists who wanted to address and remedy issues plaguing Haitian painters. Jolicouer was known to collaborate with Rene Exume and David Rouzier. In 1967, he moved to the United States, where he has resided since. His paintings have been sold at major auction houses including Sotheby's, and is represented by a number of galleries. He was included in Eva Pataki's book "Haitian Painting...
