Midcentury Travertine Ashtray in the Style of Fratelli Mannelli, Italy, 1970s
By Fratelli Mannelli
Located in Roma, IT
Sculptural Ashtray attributable to the historic company Fratelli Mannelli, specialized in the processing of travertine.
Known for its collaboration with the designer Enzo Mari, who designed a series of stylized travertine animals, this Manifcaturer has also produced many other furnishing elements such as ashtrays, coffee tables and lamps.
The ashtray that we offer for design and material seems to be part of this vast production of this manufacturer.
The ashtray has a classic quadrangular shape but the distinctive element that distinguishes it and makes it more similar to a sculpture than a simple ashtray is in the handmade carved elements.
There is a small central basin that connects with those created to be able to place the cigarettes laterally, but above all the lines that intersect each other as in a sound sculpture by Pinuccio Sciola.
