Georges Gaston Arnulf Abstract Paintings
Monacan, 1921-1996
Born in Monaco, Georges Arnulf won the Grand Prix de Rome for engraving in 1950 and illustrated the Château Mouton Rothschild label the same year. Arnulf’s interest in pre-Columbian art took him to South America from 1957–66, working in stained glass and fresco painting. Back in France, he taught drawing, his work becoming more florid and elaborate, combining human figures with plants, rocks and animals, all caught in vigoros movement.

Psychedelic Abstract Interior in Oil on Paper
Moody abstract by Jennie T. Rafton (American, b. 1925). There is a figure in the upper left corner of this piece, looking out over the scene. There appear to be architectural elements such as windows, doors, and stairs, but the composition is highly abstracted, bordering on psychedelic. Of particular note are the symbols inscribed into the yellow shape in the lower left corner.
Inscribed in the lower right corner and acquired with a collection of the artist's work.
Presented in a new white mat.

SOLARIS
By Benjamin Dray
Located in New York, NY
SOLARIS
40" x 60", $13,000
About the Series:
For Dray, Philosophy deals in the abstract and abstraction is an indispensable tool in art and culture. Through his paintings, he reasserts that abstraction has been a part of humanity, all cultures in all ages. It’s an indispensable tool, as we create symbols, vessels to fill with allusions and messages. The resulting artwork have a strong sense of purpose.
Each painting contains hundreds of hand coloured trapezoid shapes, hand drawn with a sharp blade onto silver or gold leaf. Each coloured shape can be interpreted to represent an ‘atomic’ element. On its own a block of colour is insignificant but seen as part of a whole it becomes dynamic and alive reflecting on how nature works. The phenomena of light is also important to the work. The light of the sun in a room illuminates and reflects off the paintings as they come alive and change through time.
About the Artist:
Benjamin Dray is an artist based in Sydney, Australia. He completed his formal art education in Australia and has painted continuously for the last 30 years living and working in his studio home on Scotland Island...
