This long colorful antique planter was created in the “Faïencerie de Gien”, France, circa 1890. The large demilune shape ceramic jardinière sits on four curved feet. The planter features Greek face handles and is decorated with hand painted traditional allegory motifs, including Horn of plenty and lambrequin mantling decor. The unique porcelain piece, signed Gien on the bottom, is in excellent condition with rich painted colors in the blue, white and yellow palette, inside and out.
