Hans Withoos is a Dutch fine art photographer whose work occupies a compelling space between classical iconography and contemporary visual culture. A graduate of the Academy of Visual Arts in Tilburg, trained in both textile design and photography, Withoos draws on a wide spectrum of visual references, from classical antiquity and baroque opulence to the ornamental flourishes of art nouveau and the dream logic of surrealism.
