Vintage MCM Chrome & Royal Blue Fabric Armchairs by Hibriten Chair Company
By Hibriten
Located in Topeka, KS
Stunning pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern royal blue and chrome armchairs by Hibriten Chair Company. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The chrome has no pitting that we have seen, and the fabric shows hardly any sign of use. There may be slight fading, but it is overall and so… not noticeable. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1960’s
Bold, beautiful, and royal blue!!! This is a gorgeous pair of vintage armchairs by Hibriten Chair Company. They are constructed of square chrome tube frames and wear a lovely royal blue fabric on their seat and back. They’re just BEAUTIFUL!! They would be wonderful used as side chairs in your living room, family room, bedroom, study, or as host and Hostess chairs at either end of your Mid-Century Modern dining table. They are very versatile and have that pop of color you have been needing in that dull space. Regardless of where you choose to use them, they are sure to be eye-catching, comfortable, and full of Mid-Century Modern style.
Hibriten actually had 2 companies- Hibriten Furniture Co, and Hibriten Chair Co. Both located in Lenoir, N. C. Hibriten Furniture was founded in the 1920’s by Orrin Robbins and Hibriten Chair Co. was founded a few years later by Robey Robbins. Hibriten Chair Co. was well known for its extremely high quality of solid mahogany or walnut French reproductions and other styles of furniture. Hibriten became a part of Bernhardt Furniture in the 1950-1960’s with their president George C. Robbins and was eventually purchased by Bernhardt sometime in the early 1970’s. A fun fact… The furniture on the set of the popular 1965-1971 television show “Green Acres...

Giovanni Offredi (born 1927, Milan–died 2007, Milan) was a prominent Italian furniture and product designer of the second half of the 20th century. As opposed to most of the other Italian furniture designers of his time, Giovanni Offredi was not an architect, nor did he start designing early in his professional career. Instead, Offredi partially fits the career path of some of the talented contemporary designers who pursue product design outside of a formal education in architecture.
The earliest furniture design work known by Giovanni Offredi consists of exemplary furnishings made specifically for some of the wealthy families in Milan. Such is the case of the works done by Offredi for Casa C., in 1960, in Gorgonzola, a small town 14 miles from Milan. These works were designed with a surprisingly minimal simplicity and elegance, and they also clearly display a hallmark of his design work with the use of angular lines and exposed metal or wood frames—not unlike some of the modern Scandinavian design of the time.
In the late 1960s, Giovanni Offredi met Sergio Saporiti, the owner of Italian design shop and furniture maker Saporiti, and in 1970, Offredi formalized a partnership with the furniture maker. This partnership would be long and successful and resulted in many furniture designs of distinct precision that were clearly modern and innovative and that went on to enjoy considerable commercial success.
The most prominent furniture designs that Offredi made for Saporiti include the Paracarro table...
