Large, Louis XV style wall clock in gilt bronze. It is richly decorated with foliage and cascades of flowers that are sculpted with deep lines. A sculpted bird sits atop the bountiful ornamentation of this piece. The enameled, white clock face marks the hours with Roman numerals and the minutes with Arabic numerals, and the clock hands are sculpted, openwork gilt bronze. The clockwork, from Paris, is set in a bronze casing from the Napoleon III period. Pendulum clockwork has been cleaned, serviced, and is in working condition. Clockwork signed: Farret a Paris and Médaille d’or Pons 1827.
