Villa Weber – French Architectural Lithograph from La Brique by Sédille, 1900
Located in Langweer, NL
Villa Weber – French Architectural Lithograph from La Brique, Paul Sédille, c.1900
This beautifully colored antique lithograph presents Villa Weber, an elegant residence designed by the notable French architect Paul Sédille. The print originates from La Brique et La Terre Cuite by P. Chabat, an important architectural series showcasing decorative uses of brick and terracotta in 19th-century French architecture.
The illustration displays the villa’s richly ornamented façade, with symmetrical proportions and a balanced mix of classical and modern influences. Architectural features such as arched windows, decorative panels, balustrades, and a hipped roof are rendered in precise detail. The use of polychrome brickwork and terracotta ornamentation was typical of Sédille’s architectural style, which helped popularize these materials in French building design.
This print would have been used as a visual reference for architects, students, and builders, highlighting the potential for refined residential architecture using industrial materials. Today, it serves as an attractive and informative piece of architectural history and is highly suitable for framing.
Ideal for collectors of 19th-century architectural drawings, fans of French design, or interior decorators seeking classical architectural prints...

Masterpieces of Architecture and Ornamentation: Decorative Title Page from 1766
Located in Langweer, NL
This is the title page from "Recueil Des Plus Beaux Édifices Anciens et Modernes," a compilation celebrating the finest architectural designs and decorative works, published in 1761 and renewed in 1766. The engraving features an elaborate frame adorned with classical columns, cherubs, and cartouches. At the top, a medallion portrait is prominently displayed, flanked by richly detailed ornaments. Jacobs Vignellius, whose name appears on the medallion in the engraving, is not a widely recognized historical figure. His inclusion in the artwork might refer to an individual associated with architecture, design, or art history at the time. It is possible he was a patron, contributor, or editor connected to this collection of architectural and decorative works.
Below, a collection of artistic and architectural elements, including a globe, drapery, and tools, symbolizes the artistic endeavors of the period. The engraving is signed by Babel as the engraver and P. Audouin as the publisher.
