James Winter founded his company in 1823 as a cabinet maker, undertaker, dealer, appraiser and specialised as a restorer of second hand and antique furniture to retail in his Soho shop. Wimbledon-Furniture We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original James Winter & Sons circa 1840 fully restored mahogany console table This is one of the finest tables I’ve ever seen, the carving, wood patina and detailing is to die for, it’s very reminiscent of the early 17th century pieces with the lion hairy paw feet We’ve had the piece refinished and French polished so it’s very shiny, it can be matted down a little if needs be The top of the table and of the base board is book leaf cut so it’s in four sections, the top has straight cracks both vertically and horizontally and there is some blistering with age, it all adds to the vintage look and feel of the piece Measures: Height 87cm Width 98cm Depth 41cm Provenance: James Winter and Sons...
