An eye-catching ceramics daybed, designed by Jan Snoeck from the the MS Volendam (HAL) in The Hague, the Netherlands in 1991 (signed).
This is one of the ceramic beds that decorated the swimming deck of the MS Volendam (we have photos available), a cruise ship that's part of to Holland-America line. The beautiful design is very colourful and smoothly shaped like a bed with human shapes in beautiful ceramic tiles. Different coloured tiles are used: white, yellow, black, light blue, dark blue, orange and green tiles contrast very nicely to eachother and allow a playful, bright and colourful style to be created, iconic for Snoeck's work. Any outdoor decor will be greatly uplifted with this beautiful piece of Dutch art / sculpting history!
The artist's signature is carved in the piece and it's signed in the back.

The bed remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.

An eye-catching ceramics lounge chair, designed by Jan Snoeck from the the MS Volendam (HAL) in The Hague, the Netherlands, circa 1990.
This is one of the two ceramic chairs that decorated the swimming deck of the MS Volendam (we have photos available), a cruise ship that's part of to Holland-America line. The beautiful design is very colourful and smoothly shaped like a chair in beautiful light blue ceramic tiles. With the use of colourful and different shaped tiles, the shape of a face is created on the backrest. The white, yellow, black and red tiles of this decoration contrast very nicely to the overall light blue colour of the piece. This playful and beautiful style is iconic for Snoeck.
The seat remains in good, vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
