One of the nation’s most in-demand conservation/preservation artists, Jane Kim—who takes cues from the great tradition of science illustration—inspires people to love and protect Earth, one work of art at a time. Her contemporary series of mixed media paintings and drawings, “non(NATIVE),” premiered at her Summer 2016 Artist in Residency at the de Young Museum. The series considers the relationships between native and non-native species, as well as how technology companies like Apple, Facebook, and Amazon shape the Bay Area's urban ecosystem and our sense of place and belonging.
