Salt cellars designed by Tiffany & Co. Beautiful antique pair of salt cellars created at the Tiffany & Co. in New York city, back in the 1921. This model was crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with high polished finish. made under the directory presidency of John C. Moore during the art deco period, between 1907-1947. The cellars were designed with classical George III styles, based in the original designs made in London by Dorothy Mills in 1755. As with all Tiffany pieces, the quality and design are beyond compared. Exceptional and rare example of Tiffany's finest work. Components: Two salt cellars and two salt spoons. Weight: 190.95 Grams, (122.45 Dwt). Measurements: 76 mm by 76 mm by 33 mm (3 x 3 x 1.30 Inches). Hallmarks: They are each stamped with the maker's mark, the silver assay mark, the order number, the inventory reference, the letter M for John C. Moore and signed as follow, "TIFFANY & CO. 19002 MAKERS 6145 STERLING SILVER 925-1000 2174/2176" respectively" and "REPRODUCTION ORIGINAL BY DOROTHY MILLS LONDON 1755". Tiffany & Co. Marks Tiffany silver hollowware and flatware is generally marked Tiffany & Co and generally includes date letters indicating the period it was made. Flatware also usually includes a pattern number. The first date letter "M (old English) used by Tiffany’s represented Edward C. Moore, who was the head of tiffany's silver operations until 1891. after his death, the date letters were based on the initial of the current tiffany president; 1891-1902 Charles L. This tray certainly is one of the first pieces made at the 550 Broadway avenue in solid .925/1000 sterling silver. It was made up with American classic patterns and mount in three elaborated legs. As with all Tiffany pieces, the quality and design are beyond compare. Exceptional and rare example of Tiffany's finest work. Weight: 175.85 Grams (112.72 Dwt).
