A fine and impressive antique German silver bread dish in the Art Deco style; an addition to our range of continental dining silverware. This fine antique German silver bread dish has an oval boat shaped form. The interior surface of the dish is embellished with four impressive pierced escutcheon shaped vertical pale ornamentations accented with applied festoon decoration. The lobed portions of the body are further ornamented with a paralleling panel of pierced circular motifs flanked with horizontal pales, all in the iconic Art Deco style. The rim is ornamented with an impressive applied reed decorated border. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this impressive dish include: Maker's mark: Icon for Körner & Proll (of Berlin) Silver quality/purity mark: .800 (800/1000) National mark: Crescent moon and crown Condition This antique bread dish is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. The pierced and applied decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the dish are all very clear.
