One of a Kind Balance Earrings by jewelry artist Lauren Harper hand-fabricated in 18k yellow gold featuring a matched pair of custom-cut and faceted hexagonal rainbow moonstones uniquely flush-set in hexagonal 18k white gold elements set with round brilliant-cut white diamonds. These six sided elements balance perfectly in place by way of six 18k yellow gold chains hanging from a single jump ring and finished on accented 18k yellow gold ear wires. About the designer - Lauren Harper has always had a strong creative spirit. As a child, she was a classical violinist. As a young adult, she painted and sang. Finally, Lauren found her calling in the art of jewelry design and metalsmithing. "I wanted to work with my hands”, she says. “It was important to me that I have something tangible at the end of a days work." Traveling to the exotic locales of Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Cambodia, Thailand and Laos, Lauren searches the world for gemstones of perfect color and distinctiveness. She uses warm blends of 18k and 22k gold and studs them with brightly colored combinations of precious gemstones and brilliant diamonds. Lauren finds her inspiration by merging the individual characteristics of each stone with the art, architecture and culture of the places she visits. From ancient Egyptian and Byzantine designs, to Khmer ruins, her muse is the world at large. "The collection has its roots in the past,” she says, “so it is never off trend."
