Lester Rapaport was born in the USA and studied art at Hunter College from 1963–69. He achieved dual degrees in painting, studying-with Tony Smith, Ralph Humphrey, and Robert Morris. In 1991, Rapaport began to meditate, which blossomed into serious spiritual practice. And it has become the other ingredient along with the love of abstraction that continues to inspire his painting.
