Modern Organic Shaped Steel Brutalist Cocktail Table with Incredible Patina
By Lou Ramirez
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Designers, this is a highly useable interior design gem to pair with modern homes made with lots of concrete. The Willy Guhl trend is strong - imagine this coffee table paired with a pair of Guhl Hoop chairs. And think how amazing it would be on polished concrete floors in an industrial loft. Or for those rooms that are so incredibly warm that you need something desperately to cool it down - some artistically patina'd steel formed into an organic shape could do the trick.
Handcrafted, up-cycled Brutalist style cocktail table designed and fabricated by Los Angeles based artisan Lou Ramirez. Ramirez's work is illustrative of the original designs of the Brutalist era, inspired by Mabel Hutchinson and Jerome and Evelyn Ackerman, using recycled materials to create new and evocative pieces. This piece resembling work from Silas Seandel, Paul Evans and Jonas Bohlin.
This custom fabricated kidney low table features a broad, organically shaped metal base which displays an incredible patina and a top that has been brushed with a hand painted wash with a custom cut piece of glass to protect the surface. This expansive piece is one to be admired from all angles as no two sides are alike. It would look impressive centrally placed in a room and flanked with couches or armchairs.
This eye-catching kidney shaped cocktail table...
