Louis Touchagues Mixed Media
French, 1893-1974
Louis Touchagues was born in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or, France, in 1893. Arriving in Paris in 1923, Touchagues traced the point of his pencil or brush, half a century of Parisian life. He collaborated with various illustrated papers and satirists. Touchagues was delegated by the Fine Arts as a draftsman at the first Peace Conference as well as the arrival of General de Gaulle in Paris. He illustrated many books of Colette, S. Guitry, Mr. Achard, Mr. Ayme, G. Duhamel. Touchagues' three albums, Women and models, Parisian and Waves in St Tropez, reflect his favorite subject, women.

Miles White, a leading Broadway and Hollywood costume designer for decades. created costumes for the original Broadway productions of OKLAHOMA CAROUSEL, BYE BYE BIRDIE and many others.
In film he worked on "Around the World in 80 Days" and "The Greatest Show on Earth." He designed Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and the Ice Capades for many years.
Miles was a close friend for the last 20 years of his life. We live with one of his two Tony Awards and a dozen drawings.

A native of Beeville, Fridge was an only child who made his own toys. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from Baylor University in Waco with a degree in filmmaking. In the 1960s, he and his best friends, sculptors Jim Love and Dave McManaway, became known as the "unholy trio" of Texas contemporary art.
