Spectacular pair of Maria Kipp table lamps with original bases. Shade colors complement and fit the bases beautifully. When lit a light blue glow appears within the color palette. At first look bases appear to be murano glass, but in fact are cast and painted solid plaster mounted to a gold painted wood base. Original three-way sockets work as intended. Base only measures 23 inches tall, 7.5 inch diameter. Shade only measure 20 inches tall, 15.25 inch diameter. MARIA KIPP: Maria Kipp was an accomplished textile engineer and designer who led her own successful company, Maria Kipp, Inc., in Los Angeles from 1926 through the 1977. Her hand-woven textile designs — used for draperies, upholstery and lampshades — were specified by some of the most famous modernist designers.
