Misaki Kawai was born in 1978 in Ōkawa. A Japanese artist, her work has been shown extensively in the United States. Kawai's father was an architect and amateur painter and her mother made clothing and puppets.

A beautiful, geometric yet delicate collage, primarily of aged parchment and pink dye, on wood. This piece is one of few examples of D'Haese's (1934-2023), in collage. Known primarily for her tongue in cheek large-scale marble sculptures. This piece is more contemplative. Playing with ideas of the 70s, and onwards, influenced by Agnes Martin and the like, this piece is directly playing with the feminine. Delicate semi-circles lift from the ground divided into four quadrants, sometimes plain, sometimes heavily textured. The composition is complex yet undeniably playful.
