Otto Clénin Paintings

1899-1986
Otto Clénin was born on August 5, 1899 in Madretsch (Biel). When his father retired, his family moved to Ligerz. Otto found work in the watch industry, but turned more and more to painting. He took painting lessons in Belgium and Paris for long periods. With his training as a painter he was able to make a living from his painting and he lived in Twann. In addition to his artistic work, Otto was a competent businessman. After the death of his parents, he moved to his parents' home in Ligerz, where he died at the age of 87.
