A magnificent, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver wine coolers made by Paul Storr; an addition to our antique wine and drink related silverware collection
These magnificent antique George III sterling silver wine coolers have a classic campania shaped form onto a plain knopped pedestal and domed circular spreading foot.
The surface of the upper portion of each body is plain and embellished with two large applied tied oak leaf wreath cartouches, one side bears the contemporary bright cut engraved coat of arms* depicting a pile engrailed with three cross-crosslet fitchy, all surmounted with the crest displaying a cock's head.
The second cartouche on each holder bears the contemporary bright cut engraved presentation inscription 'Given to William Rigden, In Remembrance of William Galdork, by W.H.B'.
These silver wine bottle holders each have an applied moulded decorated border to the flared rim.
The lower bulbous portion of each wine cooler is encompassed with exceptional chased fluted decoration below an applied ribbed border.
Each wine cooler is supported by a domed circular spreading foot embellished with a chased egg decorated border and a plain collet style rim.
This exceptional pair of Georgian wine coolers were crafted by the renowned and important London silversmith Paul Storr.
* This coat of arms pertains to the Rigden/Rigdon family.

An exceptional, fine and impressive, pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver bottle labels / tickets made by Hester Bateman; part of our wine related silverware collection.
These exceptional and collectable George III sterling silver wine labels have a curvilinear ovoid-shaped form.
These antique silver labels / tickets are ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pin struck scrolling designs accented with gadroon decorated scrolling leaf motifs paralleling the borders.
The body of each label is engraved with the individual wine or spirit: 'Port' and 'Hock'.
The upper portion of each label features a circular cartouche ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion, holding between the paws a roundel.
These Georgian silver bottle labels are suspended by two ring loops and connected by silver round link chains.
These fine bottle labels, crafted by the renowned female London silversmith Hester Bateman.
