Still life with fruit and lobster. Canvas size 24x30 framed 30x36 Judith Sobel was born in Lwow Poland in 1924. After World War II, she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland. There she studied with the famous abstract constructionists, Wladyslaw Strzeminski and Stefan Wegner from whom she learned the principles of Modern Art as laid down by the European Cubists. Sobel’s work was selected for the First Exhibit of Modern Art Museum Krakow in 1948-49. Judith Sobel emigrated to the newly found Israel where she lived for five years, becoming very active in Israel’s emerging art world.
