Pier Canosa Art
Pier Canosa was born in Vasto, Italy in 1940. He has traveled a lot, especially along the oceans' streets. So, in his youth, he was lucky to visit the American museums with the benevolent help of the Italian Consul General, Vittorio Corderò of Montezemolo. These, having noticed the graphic ability of the young man, introduced him to some great collectors of the time such as David Rockfeller, who bought one of his early works. Although, after some time, he visited many European and Italian museums as well. Canosa has always proclaimed himself self-taught. Constantly in love with every formal elegance, he favored the artists of Art Nouveau, the pre-Raphaelites to finally reach the Nordic culture mannerists. From the rigor of the initial monochromes, it has gradually reached the current chromatic accents. It constantly abandons itself to the ironic and the bizarre implicitly rejecting every oneirically restless inclination. The large cruise ships (Homeric, Oceanic, Federico Costa), were the headquarters of his first personal. Since 1968, he has lived and worked in Genoa.
