Italian, 1930-2020
L'artiste italien Pino Manos est né à Sassari en 1930. Il a étudié à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts et à l'Université polytechnique de Milan avant d'obtenir son diplôme d'architecte à Florence. Il a beaucoup voyagé à travers le monde et s'est installé définitivement à Milan en 1968, où il est décédé en 2020.
Pino Manos a été l'une des figures centrales du développement du Rigorismo - un mouvement ancré dans la tradition du Spazialismo (Spatialisme) et du Groupe Zéro, qui s'est initialement développé en Italie et en Allemagne, respectivement, dans les années 1940 et 1950. Le rigorisme postule que l'espace est un élément actif dans une composition artistique, et pas simplement une zone vide à remplir. Connu pour ses pièces monochromes à grande échelle, embellies à l'origine par des bandes de toile tordues et peintes en couleurs riches, l'art de Manos explore les relations de la lumière et de l'ombre qui stimulent le devenir de la vision totale.
Manos a participé à de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives en Italie et dans d'autres parties du monde ; ses œuvres font partie de plusieurs collections privées et publiques en Italie et à l'étranger. Trois de ses œuvres figurent dans la collection Nelson Rockefeller à New York, aux États-Unis.to
