By Jose Palacios

Located in New York, NY

This vibrant circular acrylic painting, “Skylight 15,” by Jose Palacios exemplifies his distinctive pop art style. The artwork features bold and dynamic tropical-inspired shapes and patterns in a striking palette of yellow, blue, pink, white, green, black, and red. The composition is divided into sections, each containing abstract geometric forms that evoke a sense of movement and energy. The interplay of solid, vibrant colors and curved lines creates a harmonious yet electrifying visual effect. The round shape of the canvas enhances the modern and playful feel of the piece, making it stand out as a captivating centerpiece. The painting measures 27.5 inches in diameter and comes with a white circular mat that complements its clean, contemporary aesthetic. Palacios’s mastery of geometry and precision is evident, as is his ability to infuse his work with both structure and spontaneity. Jose Palacios, born in Spain in 1970, is a self-taught artist who began his career in comic books and illustration. He later transitioned into graphic design and street art, drawing inspiration from the “Movida Madrileña,” an explosive cultural movement of the 1980s during Spain’s transition to democracy. This vibrant cultural era also shaped renowned artists such as Ceesepe, Fernando Vicente, Ana Juan, Ouka Leele, and Javier de Juan...

Knestrick. Harry Abrams Inc Publishers, New York, 2001. Cat. no 138 page 172, Alexander & Cowles 138). Downtown Manhattan, New York City Chinatown Street scene with various vendors. Hand signed in black crayon and numbered on image at bottom edge. "8/115 Red Grooms." Dimensions 22" x 30" Printer: Sharks Lithographs Ltd, Boulder, CO Red Grooms (born Charles Rogers Grooms on June 7, 1937) is an American multimedia artist best known for his colorful pop-art constructions depicting frenetic scenes of modern urban life. Grooms was given the nickname "Red" by Dominic Falcone (of Provincetown's Sun Gallery) when he was starting out as a dishwasher at a restaurant in Provincetown and was studying with Hans Hofmann. Grooms was born in Nashville, Tennessee during the middle of the Great Depression. Red Grooms came of age in the shadow of the Abstract Expressionists. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, then at Nashville's Peabody College. In 1956, Grooms moved to New York City, to enroll at the New School for Social Research. A year later, Grooms attended a summer session at the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts in Provincetown, Massachusetts. There he met experimental animation pioneer Yvonne Andersen, with whom he collaborated on several short films. Grooms follows in the tradition of William Hogarth and Honoré Daumier, who were canny commentators on the human condition. In 1969, Peter Schjeldahl compared Grooms to Marcel Duchamp, because both embodied "a movement of one man that is open to everybody." In the spring of 1958, Grooms, Yvonne Andersen and Lester Johnson each painted twelve-foot by twelve-foot panels, which they erected with telephone poles on a parking lot adjacent an amusement park in Salisbury, MA. Inspired by artist-run spaces such as New York's Hansa Gallery and Phoenix, and Provincetown's Sun Gallery, Grooms and painter Jay Milder opened the City Gallery in Grooms' second-floor loft in the Flatiron District. When Phoenix refused to show Claes Oldenburg, Grooms and Milder dropped out of Phoenix and City Gallery presented Oldenberg's first New York exhibition, as well as that of Jim Dine. Other artists who showed at City Gallery include Stephen Durkee, Mimi Gross (daughter of Chaim Gross and Red Grooms wife), Bob Thompson, Lester Johnson, and Alex Katz. Grooms never developed the detached stance of such Pop Art practitioners as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein or James Rosenquist. Instead he painted his own life, and became, literally, an actor on the stage of life -- in this case the art-as-life "happenings" of the downtown New York scene. Inspired by George Méliès's 1902 film A Trip to the Moon...

"Hello Dean" (James Dean) Pop Art Painting 67 x 54 inch by John Paul Fauves From "Alts iz farloyrn" ("All is lost") series 2019 Mixed media, acrylic and oil on canvas 63" × 53" inch "Alts iz farloyrn" ("All is lost") "Alts iz Farloyrn” – the latest series by John Paul Fauves featuring large-scale mixed media paintings, sculptures, and his famous art masks. Inspired by American idols James Dean and Steve McQueen, "Alts iz Farloyrn,” which translates to "All is Lost," was Steve McQueen’s first ever line on stage and represents Fauves own struggle with losing it all yet discovering his true self. “Alts iz Farloyrn” dives deep into the darkness that surrounded James Dean and Steve McQueen and explores their need to live fast. Through this new series, viewers are reminded that although both men overcame challenges to become the Hollywood elite, they struggled to mentally escape their troubled childhood and demons. Recognized internationally for his Neo-Pop Expressionism, Fauves paintings deal with identity through art, mainstream culture and social media. About this series, Fauves says “I have personally lost it all and what I’ve learned is when you lose it all you can win it all again and create a new beginning!” ABOUT John Paul FAUVES: John Paul Fauves (born in 1980) is a contemporary Artist from Costa Rica . His artistic journey started at a very young age after he became a student of Joaquin Rodriguez del Paso , one of the most important Costa Rican modern art tutors. John Paul spent 15 years studying and mastering his technique, and only a few years ago he finally started showcasing his work. In his paintings he engages questions of identity as they relate to art history as well as our everyday interactions with mainstream culture and social media. Greatly inspired by modernist masters as wellas pop-artists, Fauves mixes fragments of different iconic images in vivid and colourful compositions. Of his experimental and high eclectic style, he says, “art is an expression from the soul, and the soul is somethinglimitless. This is why I am always searching for different elements to bring into the work.” 2019: Alts Iz farloyrn, Los Angeles, CA Portraits of Someone, London 2018: [ Mi / Me ] solo exhibition at DOPENESS ART LAB, Taipei, Taiwan Arte de La Peer Papi Chulo group exhibition, Krause gallery, NYC Down the Rabbit Hole group exhibition, Imitate London, London, UK ARCO Madrid Art Palm Beach, Miami 2017: Art Basel Miami PIXELS Pre-Basel group exhibition by JM Art Management at Laurent & Martin gallery LA Style Fashion week FACES, group exhibition by JM Art Management at HOMME gallery A Loss of Innocence, solo exhibition Guy Hepner...
