Comprising a clock and a pair of ten-light candelabra, this is an impressive piece of 19th century taste and style by Raingo Brothers (Raingo Frères).
Above the French mantel clock, a classic from of urn is garnished with Greek fret and a laurel wreath. The clock itself is decorated with trailing acanthus branches, the white enamel dial bears Roman and Arabic numeral chapter ring, signed Raingo Frères, Paris.

Born in Mons in Belgium on July 2nd, 1775, Zacharie Joseph Raingo is the son of Nicolas-Joseph, clockmaker, and of Marie-Magdelaine Decroly. He lived in Tournai from 1795 till 1807 then developed, from 1810, his activity in Ghent before settling down in Paris in 1813.
