Another selection of a creation by Tamara Aladin, b.1932, for the Finnish glass factory Riihmäki / Riihimäen Lasi Oy. This listing is for the blue-gray colored vase with clear thick base. The base has on its edge the clear triangular Lion Riihimaki Suomi Finland logo sticker. Since this vase was hand blown, a small raised area flaw occured on its rim during its creation, please see images.
Riihimaki was founded in 1910 and became the largest glass factory in Finland after buying a competitor in 1927. It changed its name to Riihimaen Lasi Oy in 1937, later was bought out by Ahlstrom Corp in the 1980s and closed permanently in 1990. The factory produced art glass until 1976 and later, glass and plastic packing.
