Robert Hope Art

Scottish, 1869-1936

Born in Edinburgh in 1869, Robert Hope studied at the Edinburgh School of Design, the Royal Scottish Academy in 1925 and Académie Julian, Paris. He started as a Lithographic draftsman but soon turned to painting. His work included portraits, landscapes and views of Edinburgh in oil. He is associated with the East Linton group of painters and most of his landscapes are of East Linton. He passed away in 1936.
