Rodrigo Ramirez Pimentel Art
Born in Zináparo, Michoacán in 1945, Rodrigo Pimentel is one of the most talented Michoacán artists whose career is well-known to many specialists in Mexican art. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and other important collections in Mexico and the world. Rodrigo Pimentel studied at the ENAP, and became a pupil of several teachers who were still struggling for classical academic education: Santos Balmori, Francisco Moreno Capdevila, Antonio Rodríguez Luna, Luis Nishizawa and Celia Calderón. Originating from a region where the mystery of nature and the ancestral rites remain until our days, Pimentel recreates it in painting these elements like an integral part of human life. Pimentel has developed not only in the practical part but also in the theory, imparting his knowledge in the engraving workshop of the National School of Plastic Arts and in the school section of the National Museum of Anthropology. He has exhibited individually at the national and international levels.
