Stunning XL black and gray abstract painting from NYC artist Rosalyn Engelman (1938). This masterfully created oil on canvas exudes great energy in a stunning sea of black and gray and is part of her Nocturnes of the Soul series created in the late 90's. A companion piece of this was exhibited at the Salon Art + Design at the Park Avenue Armory in 2017. Her influences include an expansive palette of artistic traditions, from the abstract expressionism for which she’s best known, to the Asian and Japanese art she focused on while at Rochester, to the Bauhaus tradition, which captured her attention as an undergraduate at City College in New York.
