The Ruda Glasbruk company was founded in 1910 in Ruda, a town in the glass making area of Sweden, and closed in 1972. The shape was given when poured into molds made from carbon, which deteriorated quickly and created variations in the design thus making each piece unique. Carbon molds required replacing often, which made production costs high.
Göte Augustsson was the director and main designer for the Ruda glassworks from the 50s until it closed in 1972.
