Broken mirror is a mirror born from the encounter between Gufram and New York Snarkitecture studio (founded by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen). The reflecting surface is surrounded by a frame of soft polyurethane, a direct reference to Gufram's material par excellence; this creates an alienating optical effect as if the room opened up on the outside world or another environment. The polyurethane framing the mirror is rough-hewn entirely by hand; for this reason, each broken mirror piece is slightly different from another, and it is thus a unique item. Just like the large broken mirror opens a door towards another dimension, the new broken square mirror...

Daniel Arsham’s practice exists at the intersection of art, architecture and performance. Through his work, Arsham poetically combines the past, present, and future, skirting the line between romanticism and pop art—while experimenting with the timelessness of certain symbols and cultural icons.
Arsham was born in 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio. Raised in Miami, Arsham attended The Cooper Union where he received the Gelman Trust Fellowship Award in 2003. Upon graduation, Arsham toured worldwide with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company as the company’s stage designer for over four years—an experience that informed his ongoing synergistic practice. In 2007, he founded the pioneering architecture firm Snarkitecture with partner Alex Mustonen. Collaboration continues to be a key cornerstone of his practice—realizing high-profile projects with music producer Pharrell Williams and designer Hedi Slimane, as well as Dior, Porsche, and Rimowa.
Objects for Living (2019), Arsham’s first collaboration with Friedman Benda, was inspired by Arsham’s recent renovation of his own Long Island home built in 1971 by the noted modernist architect Norman Jaffe...

Red Moon Mirror, by Reda Amalou Design, 2018
By REDA AMALOU DESIGN
Located in Paris, FR
The moon mirror is a color mirror disc, suspended in a frame. This defines the space of the object that is no longer constrained. Wood, lacquer and glass are superimposed to create an object on the border between art and design, both a plastic work and a design object, creating an ethereal reflection of reality through color.
