Abstracted and serene waterlilies, inspired by Impressionist Claude Monet, cover two canvases in 'No Here, No there': A calming and peaceful diptych, oil and charcoal dipped in linseed oil painting on canvas, by Sophia Dixon.
'No Here, No There', is one of the artist's favorite works from her 2007 atmospheric series of oil paintings. It is painted thinly with layers of oil and the circles are painted rather than drawn, giving them a soft gestural quality. The artist describes the colors as light green, blue, pink, and white, with small black details. She painted the artwork in 2 parts to hang side by side, though they can also be hung with a space between as show in the detail images.
