Circular blue wall sculpture in foam clay and acrylic on wood panel with bas-relief texture and miniature sculptural elements.
This circular wall sculpture is constructed in hand-modeled foam clay over a round fir wood panel, finished with layered acrylic pigment and enamel accents. The composition operates as a mixed media wall sculpture that merges relief sculpture and contemporary sculptural painting, emphasizing tactile surface and chromatic depth.
The bas-relief structure is built through low sculpted craters and raised spherical forms, creating a dynamic surface that shifts under light. Acrylic washes develop tonal variation across saturated ultramarine, matte greys, and luminous blue gradients, while enamel highlights introduce reflective contrast. Small sculpted spheres and miniature painted figures are integrated directly into the relief, reinforcing scale contrast and spatial layering.
Material presence is central: foam clay is modeled to maintain structural lightness while achieving dimensional articulation. The circular wood support provides stability and a defined compositional boundary, strengthening the object’s identity as a circular relief sculpture rather than a conventional painting.
The work is designed for vertical display and functions as a sculptural focal point in contemporary interiors. Its strong blue palette positions it effectively within searches for blue wall sculpture, mixed media relief, and circular wall art...
