1962 abstract expressionist painting by Japanese-American artist, Taro Yamamoto (1919-2004). Oil and sand on canvas measures an impressive 40 x 50 inches; 41 x 51 inches in original wood strip frame. Signed and dated lower left. Excellent condition with no damage or restoration. Incredibly heavy layers of built-up black impasto with bright underpainting evident beneath.
