Vladimir Shkurkin Art
American, 1900-1990
Shkurkin was born in Northern China and educated in a military school in Siberia with art studies at the School of Fine Art in Kiev (1917-22). Upon immigrating to America in 1925, he moved to Seattle where he painted murals in many public buildings. In 1938 he arrived in San Francisco and did murals in the San Francisco Pavilion and Brazilian Pavilion for the Golden Gate Exposition.to
