Monumental Horse
Created in 2006 during the rebranding of Barney’s New York under new Saudi ownership, the Monumental Horse stands as a striking example of large-scale contemporary installation. Conceived through a collaboration between Artistic Director Simon Doonan and New York–based artist Terence Gower, each Barney’s flagship location received a unique equine sculpture crafted from heavy-gauge, custom chrome-plated steel coat hangers.
The Dallas installation—comprising 1,000 meticulously shaped hangers—remains the most ambitious and intricate of the series.
