About Equinoctial

Marcelo Vasconcellos who founded Mercado Moderno in 2001 in Rio de Janeiro with his business partner Alberto Vicente, is the director of Equinocial (Equinoctial). The company was founded in 2018 and in 2019 opened a physical space in the new 1stDibs Gallery in Chelsea, New York. Displaying Modern and Contemporary Brazilian design, the vast array of pieces call attention for the different usage of materials.
